Looking through my blog today I noticed the absence of one of my all-time favorite shoots! So I searched through my hard drive and found them because I had to share this fabulous shoot with you.
While I normally don’t work on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, the Thornley Family asked me if I would consider making an exception to capture some portraits of their family all together before their Christmas Eve Dinner. I have been friends with Taylor Thornley for over 20 years and that’s just the kind of friend you can’t say no to.
When I showed up at their house and found them all dressed so well, I immediately felt humiliated for showing up in my crazy “Last Minute Christmas Shopping Sweat Pants”. But, when fitting portrait sessions into holiday craziness at the last minute, sometimes my personal fashion goes out the window.
We had a great time splitting the family up into every conceivable group and making sure everyone had their picture taken with everyone they wanted to. Grandpa and Grandma were particularly pleased to each have their portrait taken and a lovely picture of them together.
Thornley and Deyo Families – thank you for letting me spend a little bit of Christmas Eve with you last year. I came in harried and full of stress and left relaxed and with lots of holiday cheer.
